DJ MILINKA

DJ Milinka atau Milinka Mikaela Radisic adalah seorang sarjana Ekonomi lulusan Belanda. Saat kembali ke Jakarta, ia bekerja sebagai stockbroker di sebuah perusahaan index, sambil menyambi sebagai seorang model. Setelah memperoleh nama yang cukup besar di dunia model, Milinka memutuskan untuk memenuhi keinginanya berkarir di dunia musik. Paul van Dyk adalah influence terbesar baginya dalam menumbuhkan hasrat terhadap musik. Pengalamannya bekerja di industri keuangan memberikannya kemampuan untuk membaca selera crowd.

Akrab disapa Milinka, artis, model sekaligus DJ (Disc Jockey) ini merupakan duo pelopor DJ perempuan di Indonesia bersama karibnya Devina. Gadis peranakan Yugoslavia-Indonesia ini memulai kariernya pada November 2005 dengan grup Electric Barbarellas. Selain pernah menjadi mantan kontingen wakil Jakarta pada ajang pemilihan Putri Indonesia 2004, Milinka pernah mendapat penghargaan sebagai Best Rookie DJ 2006 dari Paranoia Award, Best Rookie dan prestasi terakhirnya adalah Best Female DJ 2008 dari Redma Award 2008.  Meski tuntutan profesi mengharuskan bekerja hingga pagi, ia tak lantas larut dalam gemerlapnya dunia hiburan yang lekat dengan bermacam perilaku negatif. Ia pun kerap kerja keras membuktikan bahwa pekerjaan sebagai DJ tidak selamanya negatif.

“Menurut saya, orang yang berpandangan negatif tentang DJ perempuan itu karena mereka tidak tahu liku-liku dan perkembangan DJ sekarang,” ujar pemilik nama lengkap Milinka Mikaela Radisic ini. Semoga kehadirannya semakin memberi warna di dunia DJ Indonesia, keep spinning DJ. DD

HISTORY OF ELECTRIC BARBARELLAS

Cover Story kali ini ingin mengulas kembali tentang duo dj wanita fenomenal yang pernah ada di Indonesia yaitu “Electric Barbarellas”. Grup DJ yang di awaki oleh Devina dan Milinka ini pernah menghentak dunia musik dengan menggabungkan antara aksi DJ dengan fashion.

Suatu hari, dua tahun silam, di sebuah klub di Bali mereka bertemu. “Aku lagi belajar nih, serius, sama seorang DJ profesional di Kemang,” ucap Milinka kepada Devina Rosandi, kenalan barunya. “Oh, belajar ya? Aku sih cuma mengamati para DJ berkreasi,” jawab Devina, lajang yang lahir dari orang tua berdarah Cina, Belanda, dan Indonesia.

 

Perbincangan jadi mengasyikkan. Maklum, keduanya sudah lama mengenal dunia DJ, termasuk para pelakunya. Tapi, khusus DJ perempuan, sejauh ini jarang ada yang bisa bertahan lama. Lalu terbetiklah ide membuat duo DJ perempuan. “Belum ada, kan?” tutur Devina bersemangat.

 

Milinka, yang waktu itu berprofesi sebagai pialang saham, mengangguk. Tapi pemilik nama asli Milinka Mikaela Radisic ini buru-buru mengingatkan agar tidak disamakan dengan Ratu. “Dunia kami berbeda,” katanya.
